Cesarean section, commonly known as C-section, is a surgical procedure used to deliver a baby through incisions made in the mother’s abdomen and uterus. It’s often performed when vaginal delivery can be impose risk on the mother or child, else it can also be planned.
After the baby is born, the incisions are stitched and closed.

Cesarean birth

• Recovery Time: C-section recovery usually takes longer compared to natural birth. The incision site and abdominal muscles need time to heal.
• Limited Mobility: Due to the surgical nature of a C-section, movement, especially during the early stages of recovery, can impact one’s ability to perform routine tasks.
• Scar Adhesion: Adhesion due to fibrosis may lead to functional problems such as: pelvic and lower back pain, and urinary problems among others.
Most times, C-section scars heal properly, although they often appear darker than the surrounding skin. Sometimes, however, your body’s healing process goes into overdrive, which can lead to problems with scarring.
Keloids

A keloid scar occurs when scar tissue extends beyond the original boundaries of the wound, possibly resulting in lumps of scar tissue around the incision. Keloid scars tend to be thickened, raised, and itchy.
Hypertrophic

A hypertrophic scar is thicker, firmer and usually more raised than a normal scar – but unlike a keloid, it stays within the borders of its original incision line. Pink to red to purple skin color over your wound site.
Your C-section scar will fade on its own over time. But while some people are simply genetically predisposed to forming keloid or hypertrophic scars, several techniques may help minimize scarring, including:
• Silicone sheeting: Once the stitches or staples are removed, silicone gel sheets should be used to help the scar heal more smoothly
• Compression Wear: This is because after any kind of surgery, the body’s natural defense mechanism is to create pockets of fluid to protect
the incision site. Wearing the compression wear ensures that these pools of fluid disperse evenly through the body and do not collect and
solidify in an uneven way (such as around the incision point, thus creating the mummy pouch)
• Scar Mobilisation treatment: After a C-section, it is important to mobilize the tissues to guide the natural scarring process and to avoid
potential adhesions which can have many consequences, such as local, pelvic, and lower back pain, and urinary problems among others.
The medical endermologie® sessions allow for a pain-free steps early on to loosen the scar tissue, reactivate exchanges, and improve skin quality.

After a cesarean delivery, the skin heals by producing collagen at the incision site.
If left untreated, this natural healing process can lead to the formation of a scar that interferes with cellular exchanges. Beyond its unsightly appearance, the cesarean scar can create functional issues, such as limiting abdominal mobility, causing discomfort, or affecting nearby organs.
The LPG endermologie® technique’s draining and defibrosing properties enable effective treatment of cesarean scars shortly after surgery. Initially, it helps eliminate waste to effectively drain the tissue and prevents the development of scar adhesions due to fibrosis. Following this, the treatment stimulates natural collagen and elastin production to enhance the healing process, ease discomfort, and restore mobility. With LPG endermologie® sessions, it is possible to address cesarean scars and reduce the likelihood of needing additional surgical procedures.
FAQ – LPG ENDERMOLOGIE®
No. LPG is generally comfortable and gentle. Most clients describe it as a light massage or suction sensation. Treatment intensity is adjusted based on your comfort level and condition.
Not at all! We call our treatments “lunchtime quickies” because they’re only 30 minutes a session and you can go about your day as usual after.
Generally, treatments can begin once the wound is completely healed and approved by a professional.
The number of sessions varies depending on severity of your scar.
